Seit gestern GeoCacher und heute meine ersten 3 Funde direkt vor der Haustüre

- Cielo Blu
- MUR-WASSER # 2 RELOADED

Heute war ich mal in der Gegend un bin endlich dazugekommen diesen Cache zu heben. Mit den Hint kann man das GPS gleich im Auto lassen :-)

Da ich ja plane mich am Sonntag aus der Lurgrotte spülen zu lassen war heute ein kleiner Umweg nötig um einen Neoprenanzug zu organiseren. Da bot sich dieser Tradi natürlich an. Wenn man (wie ich) schlicht und ergreifend z'deppert für urbane Micros ist dann ist es schon gut den Owner zu kennen ;-)

Heut zum zweiten Mal dagewesen - wieder hat's geregnet. Wieder an derselben Stelle gesucht, doch diesmal gefunden. Viele Muggles inkl. Bauarbeiter neben der Straße. Wahrlich kein optimales Versteck...

It is definitely easier to find things that exist than things which have disappeared. I had looked at the hideout already at my first attempt, but it had been empty (apparently my visit was the last one of the day). Due to the fact that the old hint was not helpful in identifying the hideout and since my GPS pointed to another place, I then had checked several other locations last time, but in vain.

Today after my return from the "Flying Geko" cache, I decided to make a small detour to give this cache a second try and to eliminate it from my list. Today it was there it is supposed to be. Thank you for changing the hint which in particular will turn out to be very helpful in case the cache gets lost again.

Interesting place. I've been to Deutschfeistritz quite often, more or less passing through on the (upper) bikeway. Never noticed this place before.
I really recommend at least a tour around the building, and to have a look at the wooden constructions they used to get water to do all the work

Nach dem kleinen aber feinem inoffiziellen Geocaching Treffen beim Sandwirt mit Dr. Torque, Waldschrat T., gebu, Rabat und Orotl diesen Cache um 22:45Uhr gefunden.

Sozusagen als " SFTF - second First Finder"  .

(Die Dose war zwischenzeitlich verschwunden...) 

 Den Sensenhammer hätte man aber mehr einbauen können...

When I started off for this cache, I had hoped for a success story, unfortunately it ended up as a failure at least as the cache hunt is regarded.

Visiting this almost drive-in cache by car seemed completely unattractive to me, so I decided to see whether my physical condition already allows me again to go to Deutschfeistritz by bicycle. I selected the shorter and easier bike route via Gratkorn - unfortunately this is also the much more ugly one.

When I arrived at the target area, I was hoping to be able to find the cache very quickly as the area is very open and do not like at all to search around in such an atmosphere. To speed up the search, I had a look at the hint right away, but at least with my GPS the hint was of no help whatsoever - the hint only told me what I had suspected right away.

I checked a few places and even looked at two hideouts that do not fit the 1* rating (the cache description which I had printed a few days ago did not include the last sentence) Sometimes I felt quite uncomfortable because the area is narrow and it is not that nice if cars pass by closely. I cannot imagine a single candidate hideout which would be reachable by someone sitting in a wheelchair, except the case that the cache is extremely small, more a nano cache than a micro cache and nothing that could be referred to as "Dose" in German. Given the difficulty rating 2* I was expecting an easy hideout. In any case I then lost the motivation to continue the search and decided to leave after a short break. I never liked very much the searching part of geocaching and I gradually start to even hate it more and more.

I am happy to have managed my first longer bicycle ride after a long time. That's the positive news associated with this cache hunt.

The area around the museum and the museum are nice and deserve a visit. The location is a typical example for a location where I prefer a virtual cache (NB: I am talking only about my personal preference!): go there, have a look at the location, leave again and latere write down one's experiences at home with no need to search around at public places in a stealthy way and with no need to get black fingers.


PS: There is a small typo in the sentence which lists the opening times: It should read 14-17 and not 104-17.

Nache der Cachekontrolle meines Cielo Blu bin ich zum neuen "Gustus" gegangen. Wirklich schöner Ort, der mit schon immer gefallen hat. Mit ein paar Fotos knipsen ist auch das cache finden und bergen kein Problem und schöne Fotos hat man noch dazu. Am Rüchweg noch zwei total süße Enten beim sonnen geknippst, Foto anbei. Danke für den cache!
