This micro cache leads you to a place with a scenic view over Bingen, its landmark the castle "Burg Klopp", and accross the river Rhine into the Rheingau.

"Burg Klopp" has its origins back in Roman times. Roman General Drusus built a strategically important castle just at this site, and the basis of today's structures (and the well) are from those times. Already several hundred years old, Drusus's castle was renamed into "Burg Klopp" in the year 1282. Through an eventful history, the castle was destructed and re-built several times. The last time was in the middle of the 19th century, when it was re-built and renovated according to medieval plans. Nowadays, the castle is home to Bingen's city council, and to an interesting museum that covers more than 2000 years of local history with artefacts.

Please bring your own pen to sign the log book. Please take care that the film canister is re-placed firmly at its hiding spot.

Another remark: The film canister is NOT hidden at ground height.

Das letzte Funddatum liegt lange zurück und die Logs auf geocaching.com (GCJ69H) lassen darauf schließen, das der Cache sich in einem schlechten Zustand befand und nun möglicherweise weg ist. Aus diesem Grunde archiviere ich ihn auch hier. Sollten sich später neue Aspekte ergeben, so kann dieses Listing durch den Owner selbständig über ein "kann gesucht werden"-Log reaktiviert werden.

Mit Blick auf den Hint und die Coords würde ich mal behaupten, dass die Dose wohl etwas gewandert ist. Wie auch immer, irgendwann war sie trotzdem gefunden ...
