Hello and welcome to Dagmar's Cache! This Cache consists of two parts. One which you can solve from home and one for which you have to go outdoors. All tasks can be done in and around Jena in about 3 hours. Good luck! Riddle-PartTask 1: This woman (Picture 1) is so prominent that she 'glows'. Her daughter received the Nobel price. In which year? Year = ABCD Task 2: This element was discovered by S. Hofmann et al in Darmstadt on 02-09-1996. Which is the number of this element? Number = EFG Task 3: 7600 Hectopascal (hPa) expressed in atmospheres (atm) = H,I. Task 4: Valves of laboratory devices are multicolored marked depending on the matter flowing through (DIN 12920). Which color is used for vacuum? Green (1), black (2), or grey (3)? Color = J Task 5: This old postcard (Picture 2) shows the 7 wonders of Jena. Give (vertically from top left to bottom right) their latin names! The first letters are then replaced according to key 1. 1. = K; 2. = L; 3. = M; 4. = N; 5. = O; 6. = P; 7. = Q. Key 1:
Task 6: The name of this cache probably comes from a male first name, that consists of two old german (or celtic) words. Transform the first letters of this words according to key 1. 1. = R; 2. = S. Task 7: Here (Picture 3) you see the railwaystation of the french town Limoges. In which year was it constructed? Year = TUVW Task 8: This picture (Picture 4) has been painted by a famous french painter who was born in Limoges. Who is meant and in which year he was born? Use key 1, then the first letter of the family name = X, year of birth = 18YZ.. Outdoor-partInsert the numbers obtained until now and you will get Key 2:
Task 9: Take your backpack and fill it with the following equipment. (Use key 2, but take care, it uses german words and is ambiguous!): Equipment No. 1:

Task 10: Use key 2 and calculate the first position: Position 1: N 50°DL,68R'; E 11°JG,8A6' Arrived at position 1, find a solution for the mathematical task you will find there. Divide the quantity of the result by 2 and insert the resulting number in Key 3:
Use key 3 and calculate position 2. Go there! Position 2: N 50°55,A6B'; E 11°AA,2BD' Task 11: Arrived at position 2, ask Mr. Bernhard Rudolph for his hometown. Transform it according to key 2 and divide by 9. Insert the result in Key 4:
Task 12: Use key 2 and you will be given a daytime

Go to position 3 at this given daytime (use key 4): Arrived at this position use equipment no.1 and
you will find Cache No.1. In it you will find position 4. This is the

... ein sehr schöner cache! +++ drei pluspunkte für die ausgewogene zusammenstellung der rätsel- und der geländeaufgaben.
die rätsel sind an einem abend lösbar, für die stationen habe ich dann jeweils einen abend gebraucht (es wird ja wieder so verdammt zeitig dunkel!), und jedesmal wieder mit dem fahrrad rauf auf den berg 
station 3 und 4 wollte ich eigentlich zusammen erledigen, doch dann war der weg von wildschweinen aufgewühlt, das rad kam ins schleudern, der dynamo rutschte durch, als ich wissen wollte, wo ich bin, waren die batterien des gps alle... habe dann etwas panisch den wald verlassen, bin sonst nicht so schreckhaft, aber dieses andauernde knacken im unterholz ;-)

An diesen Cache habe
ich mich seit Jahren nicht so recht herangetraut. Speziell für den
Rätselteil fehlte mir stets die Geduld. Diesen Part hat nun zum Glück
corrado_vr6 (Geocaching.com) übernommen - vielen Dank für die hervorragende Vorbereitung
- und ich konnte mich heute ins Gelände begeben. Zwar lauerten dort
auch noch einige Problemchen, aber um 20:44 Uhr konnte ich diesen fast
schon historischen Cache endlich loggen. Es war eine sehr schöne,
sternenklare und lausig kalte Nacht heute. Meine klammen Finger konnten
den Bleistift kaum halten, sind zum Glück inzwischen wieder aufgetaut.
Nur gut, dass ich zufällig mein etrex dabei hatte, sonst hätte ich mich
anschließend noch auf die Suche nach meinem Auto machen müssen. TOTTOS getauscht: nichts
Vielen Dank für diese spannende Aufgabe.
