Description    Deutsch  ·  English

In the fourth month in the year seventeen hundred ninety-seven, on the night of that 22nd day my ship, the “Santa Caramba”, sank in a heavy storm, taking with it many man and mouse. More precisely, with thirty men, a mouse (sob) and 457 rats. Only I alone, Captain Heinrich Woodfoot, have survived. After the miserable scrap pile of a ship had drowned without me, I found myself an empty flask crate floating in the seas; thank God I kept that drink forever close. I stretched with the last of me power, snatched myself a toothpick out of the retched seas and caught on to row. I rowed 17 days and 21 nights without rest until I finally reached a solitary island. For 200 years I have sat now here and played Tic-Tac-Toe with only myself; always I lose and, therefore, have now no more desire to play.

Into this message, I put my last hope. Matey, if you receive this message in a bottle, please come and save me from my miserable existence in this desolate place. I promise to make it worth your effort. Pssst; you must read now very softly. I reveal to you now a secret: in my cask, not only I, an immense treasure was brought with me to the island. Therefore wing the hooves, eghh, paddle, and I will divide with you honestly the loot.

Now lend me your ear, as to find the treasure you sloop must anchor in the harbor and enter the beach you will. Shortly after, you will arrive at a lake. Circle the water in the direction of the rising sun. Behind the bank, you find the test of the eternally rolling keg. Each of your men must resist 5 times the curse of the vertigo before you can go on. After that enter with extreme caution the disk eternally turning itself. Turns you with it until you no longer knows what revolves quicker; your head or the disk. He who fails here and gives its noon meal of itself, becomes eternal shame. As soon as you pass these might Herculean tasks, rest, as you will need your strength and cunning for the next section of your search.

The time has come to cross the jungle lying before you in the eastern direction. Your path follows the narrow trail towards the setting sun. If you long passed enough, you sees before you a malicious stone bridge over yet more malicious quicksand. Cross over the footpath jumping with the left thumb in the right ear and the right thumb in the mouth. He who laughs, will sink. Got ya ! Behind the bridge climbs the steep cliff. There, above at the edge of the light underbush, will you find me. Maybe....

Hint:
Above hard, below hollowly
