Stage 1. Collecting Data:
Special equipment needed: a 2-Euro coin (don´t worry, you don´t
have to spend it)
The coordinates lead you to the beginning of the Paniglgasse.
In the Paniglgasse, there is a shop where a number of animals of
the same species serve as mascots (I strongly doubt that these
animals are very happy to serve as a mascot for this particular
place)
(The number of animals ? 1) is X.
Your next stop is the main building of the Technical University
of Vienna at
N 48° 11.949
E 16° 22.203
On the side looking towards the Resslpark there are eight busts for
distinguished professors.
One can help you find the cache. The follwing statement will help
you find him:
(Hint: A ?!? means a logical NOT, "&&" means a logical
AND)
Once you found the correct gentleman take the last two digits of
the first two numbers and add them.
Write down the result as Y.
(Hint: If the numbers on the bust were 1910 and 1956, Y would be
66)
Finally you´ll have to enter the Library of the Technical
University at
N 48° 11.950
E 016° 22.067

You may not carry any bags into the library, so use your special
equipment to store your bags and coats inside one of the lockers.
Just remember to take your cache printout and a pen with you.
Go up to floor X and find the book with the following code ?(The first X letters of the saint of dragonkillers name) (The first X digits of Pi)?
This book has several volumes ? the volume you are looking for is X-1.
Find item (1800+Y-1) "/" (X*2) (Note that the ?/? here is not a mathematical operator) and read the description carefully. At the beginning of an earlier chapter there is a simple map that should make navigating easier. Since this book is older than I am, the inn in the description is no longer there. Please note that you won't get any coordinates.

Stage 2: Some fieldwork.
A flashlight could be useful
You can reach the area of the cache in about 40 min using public
transport or your car.
Once there walk about 15 min to the cache location on a good path.
On the last 50m to the cache stay on the edge of the meadow.
The cache is hidden under some stones on the right hand side of the objects entrance area.

Mit Etaner7 und Arthos2015 heute das Finale besucht, Dose war aber rechts, nicht links wie im Hint angegeben 😉
Das war ein sehr interessantes Rätsel! Aber nur mit Hilfe des Owners kamen wir an das Studienobjekt, da der Hint zumindest uns nicht mehr dorthin brachte?
Dafür kann ich jetzt behaupten an der TU studiert zu haben (muss ja nicht hinzufügen, dass es nur für 20 Minuten war 🤣). Die dürften da etwas umgestellt haben im Computer?
Jedenfalls Danke für den netten Ausflug!

Ein tolles Rätsel mit besuchenswerter Stage und tollem Finale.
Da machte ich mir es aber selbst unnötig kompliziert. Bei dem Tier war ich eindeutig zu langsam unterwegs. Der Besuch der Bibliothek hat Spaß gemacht und weckte alte Erinnerungen. Diese Bücher hätte ich hier aber nicht vermutet. Das mit Köpfen war logischerweise völlig unlogisch für mich, konnte aber empirisch gelöst werden. He, das kenne ich - da war ich doch schon für einen anderen tollen Multi!
Vor Ort bin ich auch erst beim zweiten Mal fündig geworden. So viel Laub und so viel Schnee. Mit ein bisschen Hilfe konnte ich dann die Dose tief unter Laub herausgraben - und sogar den Hint im Nachhinein entdecken.
Toll, da ist noch das Originallogbuch von 2003 -> 10 Jahre alt! Vielen Dank für dieses Abenteuer

Diesen Cache habe ich schon seit viiiiiielen Monaten gelöst, aber dort komme ich nicht oft hin. Eigentlich noch nie.
Die Sache mit dem richtigen Professor war für mich vollkommen unlogisch, aber ich habs mit Probieren versucht.
Der Final war dafür ganz nach meinem Geschmack!

Da trifft der
Cachetitel wirklich den Nagel auf den Kopf - ganz schön kompliziert, 2x
Feldarbeit, dann war das Gesuchte natürlich nicht verfügbar, also nach
einiger Warterei schließlich die Online-Check-Variante gewählt und das
Zielareal herausgefunden, aber wo genau suchen? Gibts das Verzeichnis
irgendwo online?
Naja, dank eines Zufallstreffers im Netz hab ich
vor einigen Wochen den Finalplatz, der für die derzeitige,
österreichische Auslegung der GC-Regeln ein bisserl sehr weit vom Header
weg ist, schließlich gefunden und war heute bei einer Laufrunde (bei
der ich rauf ganz gut eingegangen bin, falls es wen interessiert...)
schließlich das Doserl besuchen, den dort vorbeführenden Multi hab ich
allerdings wegen überraschend früher Dunkelheit abgebrochen.
Vielen herzlichen Dank für dieses in jeder Beziehung fordernde Rätsel und einen Cache der "Alten Schule"!

Nachlog GC
Die Recherche war gar
nicht so einfach. Nachdem endlich klar war, welches Buch gesucht ist,
war es jedesmal ausgeliehen, wenn ich wieder einmal nachschauen wollte,
dafür brauchte ich keine 2-Euro-Münze 
.
Irgendwann habe ich dann woanders ins gesuchte Buch schauen können.
Puh, so weit weg, fairerweise steht das auch im Listing. Vom Karlsplatz
braucht man mit den Öffis doch "etwas" länger als 40 min hin. Zum Glück
habe ich MoritzRabe nicht versprochen, dass wir dort vom Startpunkt aus
in 15 Minuten beim Cache sind, es war aber auch noch soo viel zu
entdecken am Weg. Wir fanden die Dose wie beschrieben auf der rechten
Seite des Eingangsbereichs des Objekts. Danke für den unnötig
komplizierten Rätselteil und den Anlass, sich endlich einmal "dorthin"
zu begeben. TFTC
