Querbeet durchs Altmühltal 1 - In da Mittn

This Cache is next to the center of Bavaria and the starting point of the tour "Querbeet durchs Altmühltal" ("athwart through the Altmühltal").

It´s possible to absolve the whole tour, which is really recommendable but you can also do just one cache alone.

At the start the coordinates of Bavaria´s center are given and for the exact coordinates of the hiding place you will have to solve a puzzle.

Puzzle:

N 048° 56.abc

E 011° 24.xyz

1. The sum of the first two numbers of the date when the markerstone was placed.  (=a)

2. The highest number of the stated date.  (=b)

3. The number of the on the panel portrayed coat of arms multiplied with 2.  (=c)

4. How often can you see the numer "1" in the stated date?  (=x)

5. The number of the rhombs between two coat of arms minus the total number of the coat of arms.  (=y)

6. The last number of the given date.  (=z)

If the coordinates will not lead you to the hiding place --> Plan B ;)

When you are in front of the markerstone so that you are able to see the panel on it you have to go a certain number of steps to your right side (=r) and a certain number of steps forward (=f). r is the sum of the first two numbers from the date given on the panel. f is the checksum of the given year.

The given distance and time specify how long the way to the cache and how much time you need for the cache when you are doing the cache as a SINGLE one. More specific information about the TOUR will follow.

INFO ABOUT THE TOUR:

The total length of the tour is 20km. It would be good if you were physically fit when you want totake the coplete tour, because you have to master some altitude and the terrain is very steep and stony sometimes. You can go by feet or by mountain bike. If you go by feet you will need one whole day, provisions and enough to drink. To complete the tour you will need about four hours for going and additional time for searching the caches. With the bike it should be possible to do this in two hours additional searching time.
