In 1736, a windmill was built to provide flour to dockworkers in the harbour. It was then abandoned during the beginning of the twentieth century. Nowadays, it houses a small museum. The windmill museum is located next to Caudan Waterfront. The museum gives an idea about the history of the Caudan Waterfront and the way cargo was handled in the 18th century. The museum is open on weekdays from 10.00 till 12:00 & 13:00 till 15:00. The museum is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
To log the cache a password is needed. Look out for the information plate screwed at the windmill. The password is the last word in the 4th row.

Wir sind heute mit dem Linienbus aus dem Norden der Insel in die Stadt gefahren. Haben die Markthallen erkundet, sind durch Chinatown gestromert und haben schließlich auch den Weg hier her gefunden. Hier am Hafen haben wir ein wenig vom Trubel in den Hallen und Straßen hinter uns ausgeruht und Eis gegessen. Es war ein spannender Tag in der Stadt mit vielen tollen Eindrücken.
Danke für's Hegen und Pflegen des Caches.

Today we took the bus from the north of the island to the city. We explored the market halls, strolled through Chinatown and finally found our way here. Here at the harbor we took a break from the hustle and bustle in the halls and streets behind us and ate ice cream.
It was an exciting day in the city with lots of great impressions.

Heute haben wir Port Louis besucht und wollten einpaar Museen besuchen. Leider war heute alles zu. So blieb uns mehr Zeit um verschiedene Caches zu loggen. Auch dieser gehörte mit dazu. Danke für's herführen sagt Team 93Roma aus Germany

Diese Dose konnte sich nicht lange vor uns verstecken. Hier konnte muggelfrei geloggt werden.

Eigentlich sollte heute ein kultureller Museumsbummel anstehen. Leider hatte alles was uns interessierte ausgerechnet heute zu.
Da blieb genügend Zeit nochmal bei der Windmühle vorbei zu schauen.

My first visit to Port Louis - and a worthy one!! Thanks for bringing me on this adventure... without the cache it is likely I would not have made the visit to St Louis.
