PLEASE PUT NO TRAVELBUGS (TB) INTO THE CACHE !!
This cache can very well be combined with Schlosspark Laxenburg by xro, one of my favourite caches. While the pond is frozen (like NOW, in January), the island can be easily reached.
Due to recent changes to the visitor rules iceskating is now never granted, but you can skate on your own risk.
The current entry fee is 1.6 Euro for persons older than 14 years, no fee is collected after 05:00 p.m. The cache is located on a branch of a tree reaching out over the water.
Please take only the cachebox out of the hideout and leave the hideout in place!
It is strictly forbidden to land any kind of boat at islands!!
It is neither needed nor necessary to trespass the island for finding the geocache!!
The cache is a deep-freeze box (size 4 x 4 x 10 cm ) and

Endlich Eis, damit man zu dem Cache kommt. Das Eis trägt herrlich, kein Knacken zu hören. Eislaufen geht nur sehr bedingt. Es geht nur dort gut, wo sich schon andere die Mühe gemacht haben, den Schnee auf die Seite zu räumen. DFDC

Heute konnten wir die stabil tiefen Temperaturen ausnützen und über das gefrorene Wasser bis zum Doserl wandeln - TFTC!

#1504 15:00 Heute war es endlich soweit, ein perfekter Wintertag. Mit dem ÖBB-Postbus 566 gings direkt zum Franz-Joseph-Platz. Am Schlossteich spielten viele Leute Eishockey und hatten Schaufeln mitgebracht um den Schnee wegzuschaufeln und eine freie Eisfläche zu schaffen. Mit Schlittschuhen zogen sie ihre Runden. Es war ein sehr schöner Spaziergang vom Haupteingang zur Insel, 3 Rehe kreuzten unseren Weg. Dann - die Insel. Das Eis gab unter meinen Füßen keinen Laut von sich als ich über das Wasser im anderen Aggregatszustand schritt - zum Großteil unberührt mit Schnee bedeckt. Auch von den seltsam offenen Wasserstellen mit Loch am Rande der Insel ließ ich mich nicht irritieren, das Eis hielt stand. Die etwas eingefrorene Cachebox war schnell gefunden und der gleich nebenan liegende ebenfalls. Und der Cache "Schloßpark Laxenburg" mußte natürlich auch nochmals besucht werden. Dieser Nachmittag und auch der Cache hat uns sehr viel Spaß und Freude bereitet, danke. NT
