Das ist mal ein grosser Schatz. Auf dem Final wären wir fast sitzen geblieben, dann fanden wir Ihn doch.

Dank an St John of Beverley für den aufwendig gestalteten cache :-)

in/out : nix

In: Creme
Out: Erfahrung und viele neue Coinicons, danke!

Der letzte Teil zog sich dann doch etwas... Am Ende jedoch ein toller Schatz. NT

This cache turned into a big disaster and disappointment for me. Let me start with mentioning that caching in groups is something very horrible for me. I need the chance to find the stages of a cache on my own.

With this cache everything went wrong for me from the beginning. We started the cache together with Gartenzwergin who had waited for us as she had failed at Stage 2 at a previous attempt. At our joint attempt we made already a mistake at Stage 1. We then searched for Stage 2 at a wrong location for a long time. I even climed up steep slopes (because of the 3.5* terrain rating) - my clothes got very dirty. Then Alice called the hider of the cache - our mistake showed up and we went to a new candidate location for Stage 2 where we met closeby the murmeltier team who went off for Stage 3. The task at Stage 2 appeared very boring to me - I would have preferred a more challenging task. At our candidate for Stage 3 we again met the team murmeltier. We all failed - there was not water nearby. After a call to the cache hider it turned out that the coordinates were wrong. With the help of the cache owner Stage 3 could be found. Afterwards we met the cache owner and the group became even larger. Despite big efforts I did not manage to find a single stage. Every time someone else was faster and smarter than I was. The fact that I cannot memorize pictures and that I did not have one of those sheets with the pictures of the stages (which are indispensable for some stages - the term spoiler picture does not fit in those caches) made everything still more difficult. The coordinates of the last by one stage were off by about 70 meters - without the pictures this stage is unfindable - even with the "spoiler" picture it is hard.

So I could not contribute anything useful to this cache hunt - I entered my name into the log book just for showing that I was there physically - like Aron the dog. I also refrained from dropping off a TB into this cache for this reason. In the end I felt very bad and suffered from a terrible headache.

I am aware of the fact that the hider of the cacher must have invested an enormous amount of effort, time and creativity into this cache. I appreciate the activities of the cache hider. It is not his fault that this cache turned out to be such a big disappointment for me.

I am sorry that I cannot appreciate the hideouts some of which are very creative and are impressive from the point of view of craftmanship as I prefer simple hideouts that can be found quickly as I do not like if the searching times are longer than the walking times. I would have preferred less stages placed at a bigger distance (meaning at least one kilometer walking distance between two stages). I never managed to get into a reasonable walking rhythm while doing this cache - it was like stop and go in a traffic jam - just not the right type of cache for someone for whom the walking/hiking part is the nicest part of geocaching.

No trade

PS: 3.5* seems too high as terrain rating at least from my personal point of view.
