Description

One of the most beautiful hikes in the Dolomite is the "Ferrata Ivano Dibona". It follows most times the mountain ridge, thus the panoramic view is incredible for hours. The hike takes 6-8 hours one way, depending on the direction you choose.

The cache is located on the Mt. Cristallino d'Ampezzo, 20 minutes from the lift station at the Forcella Staunis. A highlight on the way is the Ponte Cristallo, well known from the movie "Cliffhanger".

Warning: This is an alpine tour. You need walking boots, a save step and must not be afraid of heights. A helmet is mandatory because of the many loose rocks that can be triggered by the one in fornt of you. A climbing belt with a Y shape security line is highly recommended. Once you started the hike there is no exit until the end. Thus stable weather conditions are a must be. The rock is getting slippery like hell when wet.

On Tour mit PET.

Went the short way from the funicular to the Cristallino D'Ampezzo, via the brigde.

We had no time to do the whole Dibona but when we return next year we will do it.
