Description    Deutsch  ·  English

This cache is telling the sad story of Delore Noces y Reve.

As legend  has it, the Spanish family Noces y Reve have been wealthy merchants for centuries. Their prosperity allegedly based on a talisman brought along from a trip to India by the dynasties founder, Carlos Noces y Reve, in 1534. It is no longer known, what exactly this talisman had been, but it's said to have helped those to immeasurable wealth, that dealt fairly and behaved properly in business. The talisman was stored in a small box escorting the respectively family's head everywhere.   Scoundrels and bandits tried incessantly to steal the mysterious box but miserable failed. Generations later, around the end of the 18th century happened a successfull raid. It happened on the wedding day of Ramon Noces y Reve and his beautiful wife Delores. Their carriage was assaulted, the talisman box robbed and Delores Noces y Reve kidnapped. The search for her was vain.

One night, the bandits were drunken, Delores managed to take the box and escaped. Not knowing where to go in the unknown area, she decided to place the box on a tree, so the bandits won't find it again. Climbing down from the tree, she fell and was seriously injured. She managed to crawl in a nearby village, where she died a little bit later. Shortly before her death she painted down some strange numbers to lead her Ramon to the hidden talisman. And really, Ramon decrypted the riddle and retrieved the talisman. He left the box as a reminder on the very spot. We will never know, what exactly the talisman was, but the tree and the box can still be found nowadays. The mourning widower Ramon was so enraged and furious, that he tried everything to find and kill the kidnappers. All means were his choice, so he failed the former high morality and the talisman lost its effect. The family Noces y Reve impoverished and ended in bitter poverty. Ramon died in the Detmold castle, where relatives of his beloved wife had given him shelter.

The coordinates point to this castle, apart from that they are not related to the cache.
