Corfu: Decayed Monastery "Agía Ekateríni"

vom westen bin ich heute zu fuß hierher gekommen.
den cache konnte ich schnell finden , aber leider war hier alles so zugewachsen das ich nicht mehr versucht habe ins innere vorzustoßen.

Very nice cache (directly below a hornets' nest, which in turn is directly below a bee hive - but the distance was far enough, so they didn't feel threatened 🙂)

This year, Fl0ydt and I chose Corfu as destination for our summer holiday. (Well, truth be told, it was me in the first place and Fl0ydt only managed to tag along through happy circumstances.) We'd decided to spite my knee trouble and our lack of long-distance hiking experience and try to walk the Corfu Trail, lugging the full monty - tent and all - across the whole island. After ten days and many, many kilometres filled with picturesqueness, peals of laughter and, yes, large amounts of pain, we managed to lay our hands on the walls of the church in Agios Spiridon, filled with lots of happy experiences, pride and the perhaps all too delible conviction of never going to such arduous lengths again.

We were closing in our final destination at this point, but the little detour had to be made - after all, there aren't too many caches to find on Corfu. The hideaway was spotted straightaway.
