A plain wooden house with the name "Pavillion zur Hilda“ opened in 1833 near the Wall. The confectioner Sparagnanpani offered meals and drinks to passers-by. Later, the pavillion was rebuilt for an inn. Soon it became an almost legendary reputation under the unflattering name "Giftbude". The summer bouts (ceremonial drinking sessions with vocals) of student’s fraternities were an urban event 100 years ago. From 1943, this was an accommodation facility of the gynecological hospital. After the World War II, the restaurant still existed until 1949. Thereafter, the building was used as a kindergarten and now stands empty for about ten years.
