Description    Deutsch (German)

You can find a parking place a bit further up the road from the cache coordinates. Follow the path behind the information-board to the mouth of the cave.

The first 150m of this cave are the most ardous of the whole trip, a low ceiling, cold water and sharp stones try their best to persuade would-be visitors to find another cave. Once you pass these trials, the ceiling becomes much higher, the rooms larger and you'll find intricate dripstones and flow facettes around every corner.

The cache is hidden in the dry part after the two waterfalls, about 1km from the mouth of the cave. Between the two waterfalls are the rock formations that were the inspiration for the cache-title. Don't let the rope leading into the last syphon tempt you, instead go up through the low but dry passage. Once you can stand up look to your right for the cache, it's hidden behind some stones.
Don't miss the best dripstone-formations of this cave further to the left in this branch.

While the cave isn't technically difficult, small problems or injuries can quickly become life-threathening if you are deep inside a mountain.
So:
  • Don't go for this cache alone and let other people know where you are and when you will return
  • You'll spend quite some time up to breast deep in cold water - you'll want a neoprene suit, a waterproof lamp and good neoprene-socks
  • The rock is sharp and you'll get to know it very well - wear a cave suit
  • Don't enter the cave during snowmelt or when there's the slightest chance of rain.
  • Take extra lights and spare batteries with you
  • Take only pictures with you and enjoy this great cave

Time needed: at least 2h inside the cave.
