Description

The cache is hidden on Montana Roja in Playa Blanca. The given coordinates are NOT a startpoint or the cache position. To find out the position, you have to discover Playa Blanca and surroundings. My intention was, to create an easy family friendly cache, without extreme climbing. But a car or MTB makes your tour easier. Make a printout of the attached map and lets start :

Task 1 : in one of the bays of the Playa Papagayo you can find parts of an old building (probertly a tower or a boat house). Find it and write down the centre position in N28° AB.CDE´ W13° FG.HIJ´. Relax and take a bath on this beautiful place.
Tip : if you are driving by car, you have to pay for parking close to the beach. Nearby the beaches are some hotels with free parking.

Task 2 : Between the Playa Papagayo and the new sport harbour you will find parts of the Castillo de las Aquila. Watch out for the sandstone plate and write down the year which is at the bottom. Year = KLMN.
Tip : on left side is the Vulcan Lanzarote. If you are interested in architecture take a look inside. It is build in an old spanish style, very luxury and simply fantastic.

Task 3 : In the old harbour of Playa Blanca starts a highspeed katamaran ferry to Fuerteventura. What is the name of it (painted on both sides) ? The correct answer is P :

P=1 > CANARY Superfast Ferries
P=2 > JUAN CARLOS Speedboat
P=3 > FRED OLSEN Express

Take a path from east or north to Montana Roja. Several easy pathes are visible. From the summit you can see Fuerteventura, the small island in front Los Lobos, El Golfo and of course Playa Papagayo. On your way back you can find the cache at
N28° AC.PNP´ W13° AK.CLC´
Watch out for a transparent tupperware box.

Good luck !
Team Homer Jay

P.S. why "Playa Blanca Soulman" ? The original cache box was a video cover of the movie "Soulman". Now the box is replaced by a regular rubber box, but the soul is still there

Archived 26 June 2013 Homer Jay has archived the cache

Dennoch vielen Dank an alle Besucher.

Netter kleiner Multi - ganz nach meinem Geschmack. Das Ziel: Echt klasse der Blick nach allen Seiten, und den Cache konnte ich auch noch problemlos finden. - Was will man mehr?! - Anschliessend noch zur Papagayo-Bucht und von dort nochmal einen Blick herruebergeworfen. - War schon ein schoener Tag heute.
