WUNNENSTEIN

Sufficient parking space at N 49°01.746' E 9°16.377'. Cache is located at N 49°01.733' E 9°16.644', which is approx. 400 metres away from the car park.
The cache is located on a hill called WUNNENSTEIN, which is close to a small town called Grossbottwar-Winzerhausen, not far away from the motorway BAB A 81 (Heilbronn-Stuttgart, exit Mundelsheim or Ilsfeld), and is ideal for taking a short break from your journey.

Grossbottwar (with its quarters Winzerhausen, Hof und Lembach) is a scenic little town on the so-called Swabian wine route. There are two historic castles nearby, which you can visit ("Lichtenberg" E 9°19.685', N 49°0.871' und "Hohenbeilstein" E 9°19.102', N 49°2.521'). Inside the castle Hohenbeilstein you can watch grab and vulture birds. Every noon they're allowed to fly arround the castle.

Grossbottwar has a nice historic market place with a Tudor-style half-timbered town hall dating back to 1554, you can also visit the remains of the historic wall, which used to surround the town.

For wine lovers there is a guided tour through the vineyards, which starts at the former observation tower of Wunnenstein and there a numerous traditional winebars and restaurants where you can taste some local wine.

From the observation tower of the Wunnenstein you have a splendid view over the region "Mittlerer Neckar", the Loewenstein mountains, the Black Forest and the Odenwald. (Please don't forget your binoculars!). If the tower is locked, you may get a set of keys in the restaurant located further down.

Beside the observation tower, there's area for barbecues and a restaurant with a lovely garden overlooking the undulating Swabian countryside. Therefore the search can be combined with a w/e trip for the whole family.
