Diesen Cache konnten wir im Zuge eines gemütlichen Mittagessens am Skywalk trotz sehr großem Muggleaufkommens sehr schnell und einfach lösen; die Dose selbst ist dann in einer "muggleberuhigten" Zone gefunde, gehoben und geloggt worden. TFTC!

Heute stand ein Besuch in Graz am Programm. Das Ziel war es,  etliche interessante Multi Caches, ein Letterbox Cache, Virtual Caches, ein Earth  Cache, ein wherigo Cache, und ein paar Adventure Lab Caches zu absolvieren, sowie einige gelöste Mysteries zu loggen. Dabei ging es immer wieder kreuz und quer, rauf und runter und es ließ sich nicht vermeiden, dass so mancher Platz 3 bis 5 mal besucht wurde, obwohl ich versuchte, mehrere Caches gleichzeitig bzw. parallel zu lösen. Aber da es in Graz sehr schön ist, war der mehrfache Besuch von den Sehenswürdigkeiten kein Nachteil. Zwischendurch wurden auch Traditionelle Caches erledigt, wenn es sich auf den Routen gut ergab.

Bei dem schönen Herbst Wetter herrschte großer Andrang auf der Aussichtsplattform. Die Sicht zum Uhrturm ist toll. Die Aufgaben sind gut und schnell zu lösen.

Am Wochenende hatte ich hier schon einmal geschaut, aber da war hier geschlossen. Die Plattform ist sehenswert, insofern ein empfehlenswerter Cache, für den ich eine Empfehlung vergebe. Ich habe aber nichts gekauft und nichts verzehrt. Die Dose war nach kurzer Suche gefunden.

Kurz vorm Zusperren noch hier herauf geschwindelt um die Werte zu ermitteln und die Aussicht kurz zu geniessen.
Schade, dass es schon so spät ist und es morgen wieder nach Hause geht. Sollte ich aber wieder einmal nach Graz kommen, dann werde ich auch ganz sicher nochmals hierher kommen und a bissl länger hier heroben bleiben. Das Finale wurde so am Weg nach unten berechnet und der Cache konnte dann vor Ort, sehr gut gefunden werden. Für uns war es heute auf jeden Fall ein Vorteil, dass sich der Cache nicht auf der Plattform befindet.

Der Rest der Familie hat sich hier eher für die tiefer liegenden Stockwerke begeistert, mein Fall wir hier deutlich mehr der Skywalk.
Ausnahmsweise hat hier weder Lese-, Rechen- noch Tippfehler zugeschlagen und dank der punktgenauen Koordinaten gab es einen schnellen Fund.

Nach einem kurzen Abendsspaziergang noch schnell nach oben gehuscht und die Aussichtsmöglichkeit genützt. Eisglatt war's da oben.

Die Finallocation ist so ziemlich in allen Belangen konträr zum Startpunkt.
Ich konnte den Final wesentlich besser mit google maps finden als mit gps. ohne kartenfunktion ist ein gps hier so gut wie nutzlos...

Harte Nuß. Zuerst aufgrund meiner veralteten Beschreibung etwas in die Irre gegangen, dann am Final praktisch kein GPS-Empfang, daher Suche nur nach Straßenkarte und Gefühl. Umso größer schließlich die Freude, ihn dennoch gefunden zu haben.

Diesen Cache heute auf meiner kleinen Tour gemacht.
Die Fragen waren klar und schnell beantwortet, danach genoss ich noch die Aussicht auf das verschneite Graz und dann ging es gleich zum Final. Also ohne Hint wäre die Dose schwer zu finden, da auch das GPS hier schlechten Empfang hat. Aber mit dem Hint war es ein schneller Fund.

Die Macht sei mit euch.

Am Samstag, nach Genuß des wirklich tollen Ausblicks vom neuen Skywalk, aufgrund des nicht so tollen Empfangs an der Cache Location zuerst an der falschen Stelle gesucht,
nach Rückfrage beim Owner dann heute fündig geworden. Dafür durfte ich auch als erster das neue Logbuch einweihen.

On my way back from the Kanzelkogel cache I realized that I would not manage to reach the supermarket where I wanted to buy some item in time without hurrying up more than I wanted to. So I decided to change my plan and went to the Spar in the Kastner building. As I was already there I decided to go up to the skywalk and determine quickly A, B and C. I have not been at the Kastner department store for quite some time. I had to leave my bicycle at the church at Schlossbergplatz as Kastner's parking lot for bicycles has been closed before the restructioning and has never been reopened. It is a kind of a scandal that they offer a huge parking garage for cars and do not care more about bicycles.

I have not been happy with the development of the Kastner store during the last years and only went once in a while to the independent Spar supermarket and to the Gigasport store. When I was a child, the typical answer when someone asked where he could buy a certain item, was that one might look at Kastner. The time when one could buy buttons, fabrics, bulbs, stationaries, games, books, audio discs and CDs, reasonable priced clothes and many other things are gone. I never feel comfortable in department stores and even less on Saturdays in the pre Christmas time when many people are around. Although I was aware of a further restructioning of Kastner, I was shocked when I went up the escalators today. I was rather reminded of some department store in Milan (which I entered many years ago as I needed to visit a rest room and as the rest rooms in stylish department stores are typically cleaner than those at Mac Donalds and such places). I really felt very misplaced there with my dirty trousers and my telescope nordic hiking poles sticking out of the knapsack. Kastner more and more gets an in-crowd place (already reading texts like (visit link) make me vomit) and is very far from a store where one could many different items at a reasonable price and at a central location. I am very much in favor of shopping options in the inner city, but Kastner does not provide such an option.

I did not see that much when I arrived at the skywalk as it was already dark. A, B and C were quickly determined and I glad that I could leave soon as too many people were standing around. Some reminded me of those standing in front of in-crowd places and drinking champagne Saturday morning. It is obviously a good place for people who want to be seen. The questions were quite boring (yes, I know why they have been chosen that way). I could not fully enjoy the view due to two reasons. First, the so-called Advent light installations in Graz annoy me each time when I see them. Many years ago I visited Strasbourg and was enchanted by the much more traditional way Advent is celebrated there in the public space. Second, I am annoyed by the fact that the Kastner management dared to destroy a Gothic vault and replaced it by styleless, modern building elements.

After having determined the coordinates of the cache, I first went to the supermarket and then went for the cache. As usual I took a wrong route decision, erred around as the area has changed and I could not take the intended approach. Once I arrived at the right place, I found the cache quickly. The location is quite typical for the turn geocaching had taken in recent years. There is no space left in the log book. I wrote my entry to the left of Ingwal's entry and above the entry of grizz-gps, Moewe and Co. I am wondering why no one is mentioning that there is no space left. I hate nano caches and this will stay so forever. I am glad that I got this cache off my list - four aj-gps caches on very prominent place on my unfound list are too much and moreover, I do not want to get reminded about the Kastner store each time when I look up my nearest list.

BTW: Nanos are micros according to the guidelines and not caches of size other.

Mit ptom gings heute zu diesem Cache. Die Ausblicke sind wirklich ungewohnt und durchaus interessant. Vom Schlossberg aus gesehen hatte ich angenommen, dass der Skywalk ein Stück weiter raus geht. Dennoch eine tolle Sache. Auch der Cache selbst war rasch gesichtet, und kann sicher ohne Probleme auch bei extremen Muggelaufkommen gehoben werden. tftc
