Ancient place for astronomical observations, sacrificial area of the Celts or "simply" granite stones: The Fairy's Hat (Feenhaube) is a fascinating area in the northwestern wine-quarter.
About 500 meters south of the coordinates there is a little parking area and an info-point. The round-trail Kogelsteine-Feenhaube can be done in less than one hour, but there are many granite boulders to explore, so you will probably need longer.
The area around the Fairy's Hat is very frequented, therefore the cache is hidden about 250 meters to the southwest (near the hiking path).
The cache consist of a grey plastic-shaker (250 ml). Original contents: Cachenote, Log and Pencil (please do not remove); Merry&Pippin; Ötzi; Bat, some old money (Austrian and foreign).
There were cobwebs at the hiding place, so I took it as "vacant" [:)]. Please hide it out of sight again.

Sind durch Urlaubsbekannte auf´s Geocachen aufmerksam gemacht worden - nun war´s endlich so weit. Kaum vom Urlaub zurück, gleich GPS Gerät besorgt und den 1. Cach absolviert und dass sogar ziemlich schnell!!

Nach dem Misserfolg beim Reich der Steine hier Trost gefunden. Eine unglaubliche Gegend. Mitte November ein gelb blühendes Feld zu sehen hat mich überrascht. Thanx.

Teamwork mit dem mystischen Gumbo67 [:o)]
Nach einem mystischen Spaziergang vorbei an mystischen wilden (gutschmeckenden) Zwetschken und mystischen Brennnesseln haben wir in der Nähe des mystischen Felsens auch den mystischen Cache entdeckt [:)]

I'm sure - we never would visit this worth seeing place without geocaching.

Nr. 4/4 of todays tour at 1415. Afterwards our driver Wolfgang brought us to a late lunch.
It was a nice walk from the north side to the fairy's hat. When approaching we tried to make a shortcut through the woods, but it would´nt have made a difference if we had taken the path. At the hideout we needed about 5 to 10 minutes to identify the right tree.

On my 2nd day of the tdatce (two-days-all-time-caching-event), I made my was back to Vienna as long as possible, solving a 'Travelling Salesman Problem'. It was sweltering onthe afternoon, the sun burning relentless. A lonely visitor left the Kugelsteine when I arrived, so I visited them in silence. As approach to the cache I choose a bad way, having to walk allong a field and across some windbreaking bushes. The oh-so-fine satellite reception was quite bad this time :(, I orbited through the area for half an hour, again sticking my arm into whole holes not meant to be examined ;). The I found a fitting object and the cache-box, too. I logged close to 2:30 p.m.
Thx to Gavriel for this nice cache, its still in good condition.
