Nach der Anmeldung bei OC, diesen nun auch hier online geloggt.

#329 Gemeinsam mit dieHessin und Thalydo wurde der Sonntagmittag im Wald nahe der Wiesecker Grillhütte verbracht. An Stage 1 war der Empfang ziemlich mies und wir haben ein Gelände mit gefühlter Größe von drei Hektar abgesucht, aber außer Zecken nichts gefunden. Svani musste somit als Telefonjoker herhalten und uns "a" mitteilen. Stage 2,3 und 4 (!) machten uns keine Probleme. Auf dem Weg zum Final war klar, dass man sich die nächste Ladung der Parasiten einfängt, doch der Wille, einen "Found it" zu landen war größer als die Zecken-Phobie.

Eine nette Runde, die ich mitdieHessin und karloff heute gegangen bin. Stage 1 war allerdingsso zugewuchert, dass wir Svani als Telefonjoker benötigten - Danke für die Hilfe!

Wir haben den Cache vor längerer Zeit schon mal angegangen, sind dann aber auch am "Mantel" gescheitert. Da hatten wir einen anderen auf der Rechnung gehabt, den wir aber dort nicht finden konnten. Nach Rücksprache mit der Cache-Ownerin war dann aber schnell alles klar. Heute war dann alles nur noch Formsache. Der Micro beim Dicken ist genial. Danke für den interessanten Cache.

This was my first cache today and also the one I liked most. Alice was so kind to accompany me and to act as my driver. We parked the car near the dog school Giessen-Wieseck (N 50° 36.890', E 008° 42.884'). This place is ideally suited as place to leave one's car in case one wishes to combine this cache and the Hangelstein cache.

Near Stage 1 the reception was bad and the GPS was jumpy, but still I was able to locate the right tree stump. I liked the area around Stage 1 - it was more quiet in this area than later in the area of the Hangelstein cache where we met too many nordic walkers for my taste. I had forgotten to bring a measuring tape with me, but with the help of the sheets of the cache description and the edge of my compass to check my estimate, I was able to come up with two values of a of which one turned out to be correct.

Stage 2 was the stage I liked the least for certain reasons that are connected to my personality. This stage is, however, useful to know that one is still on the right track and helps to find the right way to Stage 3.

While the task at Stage 3 was quickly solved, it took me some time to find the micro at Stage 4 although I had the right idea from the beginning and was already quite near to the micro's hideout when I rejected my conjecture for a while before I had a second look to the place. I guess Alice had a good laugh in watching how close I had been already at my first attempt without finding the muicro. The micro is a very nice one! - I have never encountered that type before. Stage 4 and the corresponding hint in the cache description are very creative and turn that stage into my favourite stage of this cache. The area around Stage 4 is interesting in its own right.

Having obtained the final coordinates, the cache was quickly found at a well-chosen place. The box and its contents are in good condition. I had some unexpected problems in closing the container again because a small and thin branch of a tree had entered the opening of the box without attracting my attention. Fortunately, Alice found out the reason of my problems and after the removal of the obstacle, everything worked out fine well again. Take care to put the box back in the same way as you found it.

What a pity that this nice multi-cache which invites for a short and relaxing walk in easy terrain does not get more visitors. Depending on the season and time of the day when one visits this cache, there are plenty opportunities to meet animals, like deer, boars and in particular a great variety of birds. It is a real pleasure to have Alice as caching companion - she observes so much more than I do and she knows the names of so many plants, birds and other species which I am not able to recognize on my own.

The small log book package for setting up a new cache still waits in the cache. It would be nice if a greater number of cachers were willing to participate at the cob web project. Maybe the TB (a car that is able to drive) will motivate further visits in the near future. Winter is a good season for this cache as the reception is better in Winter time.

Die Runde ließ sich gut an, und die ersten Stationen waren schnell gefunden. An dem Dicken mit dem ‚Mantel’ bin ich dann leider beim ersten Versuch gescheitert. Schade! Vielleicht wars die knappe Zeit, die mangelnde Idee oder einfach Unfähigkeit.

nachdem Jutta mir gestern nach meiner Cache Tour ein wenig Hilfestellung bei dem Dicken mit dem Mantel gab, hab ich mich heute nach der Arbeit noch mal rangetraut. Diesmal ging alles ganz leicht, und der Final war schnell gefunden.
Danke für die schöne Runde, in einer Gegend, wo ich sonst immer ganz schnell vorbeifahre.
