Volcanoes Typology
The shape of a volcano depends upon a variety of factors, such as the composition of the magma, its exit temperature and the slope that it flow down.
But perhaps the most decisive factor is the behaviour of the volcano when it is created.
Some volcanoes, are created by a single eruption; others are produced by various eruptive stages, like the impressive Teide strato-volcano.
The volcano cones are liend up along a fissure or crevice.
The magma reaches the surface through isolated points.
The pressure of the magma diminishes the higher it climbs, so the lower cones emits the most lava, the intermediate cones less and upper cones the least.
You can also see at this location multiple layers.
Each one of the layers originates from a different eruption and was deposited over a period of days and weeks. Hundreds, maybe even thousends of years can elapsed between single eruptions which the layers caused.
The black lava emitted by Teide during this prolonged eruption covered the whole of the northern slope and part of the southern one.
Although it is a different colour, the terminal cone is also composed of black lava, but it has been altered by the corrosive power of the emitted gases.
To log this cache as a found, you must
- upload a picture of you and your GPS, which confirms that you had been in person at this location
- Also a selfmade painting at the given coordinates

Typologie der Vulkane
Die Form die ein Vulkan hat, hängt von einer Vielzahl von Faktoren, wie z. B. die Zusammensetzung der Magma, seine Ausfahrt, Temperatur und die Steigung, die es nach unten zu fließen, ab.
Aber der entscheidende Faktor ist vielleicht das Verhalten der
Vulkane, wenn diese ausbrechen.
Einige Vulkane werden durch einen einzigen Ausbruch, andere sind
durch mehrere Ausbrüche erschaffen, wie die eruptive Schrittweise
beim beeindruckenden "El Teide" Schichtvulkan.
Die Vulkan-Kegel sind lienenförmig entlang einer
Oberflächenkorrision bzw. Spalte. Die Magma erreicht die Oberfläche
durch isolierte Punkte. Der Druck der Magma verringert sich, je
höher es ansteigt, so strahlen die unteren Kegel die meiste Lava,
die Mittleren weniger und oberen die Wenigste aus.
Auch hier an dieser Stelle sind mehrere Schichten zu sehen. Jede dieser Schichten entstand bei einem anderen Ausbruch, welche sich über Tage oder Wochen hinziehen konnten. Jahrhunderte, vielleicht sogar Jahrtausende können zwischen den einzelnen Eruptionen, die die Schichten verursacht haben, verstrichen sein.
Die schwarze Lava, die während dieser anhaltenden Eruption des
Teide emittierte, behandelt den gesamten nördlichen Hang und Teil
des südlichen.
Obwohl es sich hier um eine andere Farbe handelt, besteht der Kegel
auch aus schwarzer Lava, aber durch die ätzenden Gase wurde die
Lava "manipuliert"
Um diesen Cache als "found" loggen zu dürfen, musst du
- ein Foto von Dir und deinem GPS hochladen, welches beweist, dass du persönlich vor Ort gewesen bist, und
- selbst eine Zeichnung von dieser Stelle anfertigen, die du deinem Log zufügst.
- schreib bitte eine Mail mit
- den drei Begriffen (in Englisch), die auf der Schautafel unten links zu sehen sind und
- wie man eine einfache Eruption und mehrere Eruptionen nennt (siehe Schautafel)
Logs ohne die geforderten zwei Uploads werden drei Wochen später kommentarlos gelöscht.

Unser letzte Cache an diesem langen Valentinstag, den wir fast ausschliesslich auf dem Teide-Massiv verbracht haben... 
Eine tolle Aussicht, die wir hier geniessen konnten und zudem wieder etwas gelernt haben.

Die "Sch.. wetterlogerlaubnis" haben wir ja schon bei GC erhalten. Jetzt wieder in der Heimat sehe ich, dass der Cache auch bei OC zu loggen ist. Die Antwortmail können wir uns so ja sparen, dafür fügen wir nun noch ein Schönwetterfoto von ein paar Tagen später bei...

We found 31 Caches during our 7-day-trip to Tenerife. This one was the third cache on the fourth day, #14/31.
We
went to see Mount Teide today. On our way from the hotel in Güimar to
the "Teleférico del Teide" we visited several earthcaches and
traditionals. When we arrived back in Güimar in the evening we had found
eight caches, great day!
Amazing earthcache!
We took some
pictures and enjoyed the beautiful surrounding. This time the male part
of the team did the painting. Therefore it's - well, lets say: modern
art.
Of course we also took a photograph, it shows 1/2 team Faust 64 at the cachecoordinates.
Thanks to the owner for creating this nice earthcache, visited the cachelocation at 12.25,
greets from Kaiserslautern in Germany.

From 11th to 17th of June, Saarzwerg and I (Saarfuchs) visited Tenerife and Geocaching was our travel guide... And it was a really good travel guide! [:D] We both enjoyed that trip. We have had booked a rental car, so we could visit all interesting places on that island! The weather was fine - not to cold and not to warm, so our journey have been great! During these journeys, we have looked after some caches, which have been placed on our way... This was one of them! The answers have been sent... Hier sind wir leider schon mal achtlos daran vorbei gefahren darum haben wir den Erdcache heute nochmal besucht um ihn richtig zu würdigen die Aussicht ist hier wirklich gigantisch und man kann an jeder ecke etwas lernen. Auch wenn wir vor Ort dann doch etwas Blind waren <img src='http://img.groundspeak.com/forums/emoticons/signal/cute.gif' width=19 height=19 border=0 align=middle>

Auf dieser Hochstraße waren sehr schöne Aussichten zu erleben und auch viele Caches. Neu für uns, das hier Zeichnungen angefertigt werden sollen. Naja, wirkliche Künstler sind wir nicht, wir haben uns aber Mühe gegeben.
