At the time of National Socialism the Spitalstraße was called Adolf-Hitler-Strasse, and until the beginning of the 20th century Spital-Gasse.

The street was incorporated on September 24, 1982 in the Schweinfurt pedestrian area.

The name Spitalstraße, however, was at least since 1516 in use. The name was probably created in the vernacular, because even before 1294 an infirmary was built on the site of the later poorhouse. In the 14th century, the Carmelite monastery was located in the same area. The city map of 1833 contains the name "Spital-Gasse".

Ich war in Schweinfurt Dieses Wochenende ist ein Pfadfindertreffen bei Bad Kissingen. Es ist ein schöner und sonniger Tag und ich bin früh zu Hause los gekommen und möchte dann zum Nachmittagskaffee ankommen. Unterwegs lasse ich mich von Caches am Weg inspirieren und suche spontan einige Zwischenziele aus.

Erst habe ich mich ein wenig auf dem großen Marktplatz umgesehen und Friedrich Rückert bewundert. Über ihn gibt es auch vieles in meiner Heimatstadt.

Trotz bevölkerter Fußgängerzone gelang es mir ein Webcam-Foto mit wenigen Personen drauf zu speichern. Ich stehe neben der blonden Frau auf dem Plakat.

Vielen Dank an Lost-Wolf für diesen Webcam-Cache.

Bei einer Stippvisite in Schweinfurt haben wir diese Webcam besucht.
Um auf uns aufmerksam zu machen habe ich mir eine grünliche Jacke angezogen, obwohl es eigentlich dafür zu warm war.

Unterwegs auf dem Mainradweg sind wir heute in Schweinfurt angekommen. Beim abendlichen Rundgang sind wir hier vorbei gekommen und d ich habe ein Foto geknipst.

Heute Nachmittag ging es mal in die Stadt, naja, um Stadt-Sachen zu machen eben. 😉
Jedenfalls nach einem Kurzbesuch auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt hierher zur Webcam marschiert. Zum Glück war die Sonne hinter Wolken, denn heute Mittag hat man auf der Kamera quasi nur schwarz und weiß gesehen. So ging es aber: Der Typ an der Lampe mit der Tasche! 💡
