Die Serie SightSeeingVirtualCaches
SightSeeingVirtualCaches sind virtuelle Caches, die euch Sehenswürdigkeiten zeigen. Die Caches dieser Serie sind immer OC-Only und nur mit einem Passwort, das an der Cachelocation zu finden ist, logbar. Ihr könnt gerne mit einem Foto loggen, das ist aber keine Pflicht. Im Arabischen heißt Djemaa el-Fna etwa Versammlung der Toten. Dieser Name rührt daher, dass die Sultane zur Zeit der Almohaden den Platz als Hinrichtungsstätte nutzten und aufgespießte Köpfe hier zu Schau stellten.
Heute wird der Platz wegen seiner orientalischen Atmosphäre von Touristen und Einheimischen gleichermaßen geschätzt. So herrscht an den Abenden ein wildes Treiben mit Gauklern und Schlangenbeschwörern, Vorlesern, Wahrsagerinnen sowie Künstlern und Musikern, ferner gibt es Verkaufsstände, an denen kulinarische Spezialitäten der Region gereicht werden.
Der Kulturraum des Djemaa-el-Fna-Platzes wurde im Jahr 2001 als erster Ort in die neu geschaffene UNESCO-Liste der Meisterwerke des mündlichen und immateriellen Erbes der Menschheit aufgenommen.
Um dieser Virtual zu loggen, gehe einfach zum Coords und finde die UNESCO-Tafel. Das Kennwort ist das letzte Wort aus der Zeile, der mit "serpents" beginnt (Französisch).

During a short trip to Marakesh we visited the vibrant Jamaa el-Fna square today for this unique virtual cache! The square is bustling with energy—snake charmers, street performers, and the aroma of spices all around. A true cultural experience! Thanks for bringing me to this amazing spot and giving me a reason to explore it more closely. TFTC!
