Povile – Zwischen Felsstrand und Fischerbooten

About the Location
Povile is a smstalgičnim šarmom i kristalno čistim morall coastal village south of Novi Vinodolski – perfect for anyone looking to experience the Adriatic away from busy tourist routes. The place feels timelessly charming: small houses, some still with beach structures from the 1980s, Mediterranean gardens, and a sleepy harbor create a warm, family-like atmosphere.

The harbor in Povile may be small, but it’s full of life. Fishing boats, small yachts, and excursion boats are moored here. In the early morning, the scene becomes lively as fishermen return with their catch – ideal for authentic impressions or a chat with the locals. With a bit of luck, you might be able to buy fresh fish right off the boat.

The beaches are mostly pebbly or rocky, giving the sea its stunning clarity. Underwater springs add a refreshing coolness. Near the campground and harbor, it can be a bit livelier, but just a few steps away, peaceful natural coves await – often nearly empty even in high season. Perfect for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, or simply relaxing while enjoying the view of Krk Island.

Most of the coves are freely accessible, with (free) parking nearby. Many entry points into the water are shallow and family-friendly – perfect for kids or gentle wading.

About the Cache
Povile is not only a place to relax, but also ideal for a webcam cache – after all, Croatia has the highest webcam density in Europe. And yes, there’s one here in Povile too!
