Heilbronn 1643 by Matthaeus Merian

The "Galgenberg" (Gallows Mountain) has its name not without reason. Actually the gallows were located on this mountain near the city clearly visible for everyone until the 18th century, as you can easily see on the engraving "Heilbronn" by Matthäus Merian. This works in both directions. You have a marvelous view from here (N 49° 09.095' E 009° 15.159') on the area of Heilbronn. Especially recommended by night. A few years ago there was a replica of the gallows and a sign for memory. This all vanished in the meantime. So you can call this a kind of Lost Place. The cache itself is not far away.

For parking use the parking lot at N 49° 09.147' E 009° 15.080'. Directly behind it a paved way leads into the forrest. When leaving the parking lot be careful and turn only right (left is not allowed anyway), because the cars are approaching very fast here. You can do a u-turn some distance down the road.
