This swing bridge was already 100 years old in October 2005. It is listed in the "Denkmalliste"
Built in the beginning 1905 and turned in September 1905 for the first time.
In the central pillar is all the technic equipement of the bridge.
The 650 ton, 70m long structure is lifted and rotated by a spindle king (also called a king chair). One only 30HP powerful motor lifts the bridge by 11 centimeters due to hydraulic pressure of 93 bar. In an emergency, the bridge can also be operated by hand.
Caution! Here reigns partly strong truck traffic, really only change the page if everything is free.
It must be climbed over no railing and no forbidden territory be entered.
The best disguises oneself as an amateur photographer!
Small container bring your own pen.
Carefully open the can and drop nothing. The best place is on the banks of one of the bridgeheads while enjoing the panorama.

Die heutige Runde führte uns in das Gebiet dieses Caches.

Heute ging es mit mabo1972 und Bearl88 zum Rheinhafen.
Die Runde war gut zu laufen, und man blieb stets im Hafengebiet, doch leider hat man vom alten Hafen und dem Wasser wenig gesehen. Zwischendurch gab es immer wieder kleine Abstecher, die in die Runde eingebaut wurden, was für etwas Abwechslung sorgte.
Dieser Kleine lag dierekt am Weg und wollte auch signiert werden.
Vielen Dank fürs Legen und Pflegen der Caches!
