Between Lake Gavanovac and Lake Milanovac flows the Milka Trnina Waterfalls (Slapovi Milke Trnine)

These waterfalls form beautiful cascades and are named after Milka Trnina, a famous Croatian opera singer.

She died suddenly on May 18, 1941, in Zagreb during World War II, and it took two years for the news of her death to spread around the world. Her last wish was that the coffin containing her body be buried in the ground to the sounds of the Croatian anthem "Our Beautiful Homeland." She became famous for her portrayal of the tragic heroines of Wagner's operas. She was committed to humanitarian work and, during a concert at the Croatian National Theater in 1897, donated all the proceeds to the Society for the Beautification and Development of Plitvice Lakes and the Surrounding Area, which named one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Lower Lakes in her honor. These are the only waterfalls in Plitvice Lakes named in honor of a famous person during their lifetime.

There are several viewpoints along the trail, and a commemorative plaque with Milka Trnina's medallion is located on the rock face.
