Hafen-DD - New Edition/*Reload* - “The Elector's Hunting Lodge”

The time has finally come!

Welcome to my first multicache! 🎉

This cache is also a partial a new edition of the multi “Hafen-DD” (OC116A4) by Pygmallion, with an additional stage and a modified final.

It is located on the Elbe Cycle Route near the harbor and the Ostragehege. It is also a great opportunity to explore the area on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the harbor, which took place at the end of August.

If you like, you can take a route along the flood channel. It offers many interesting insights and sights.

Among other things, you will see the exhibition grounds, the festival grounds at the channel, the Alberthafen, and the Ostragehege before you reach the festival grounds on the banks of the Elbe.

Starting coordinates and first task

Begin your exploration at the listing coordinates. Here you will find a fantastic view of Übigau Castle, the former hunting lodge of the Saxon royal court. The impressive baroque castle was built between 1724 and 1726 and has been used by Comödie Dresden since 2019 to finance its renovation with summer events.

To find the cache, you must answer four short questions at this historic site.  Make a note of the coordinates for the waypoint:

A = How many windows are there in the basement?

B = How many pillars are there at the front of the castle?

C = How many chimneys are there on the main roof of the castle?

D = What is the Roman numeral on the shipping traffic sign located near the starting point?

Once you have collected all the values, you can calculate the coordinates for the intermediate station using the following formula:

Afterwards, you can stroll along Übigauer Allee, just as the Saxon court and its guests once did. This leads back to the Elbe Cycle Path.

Once you reach the halfway point, you will find the next clue and can determine the final destination! This is also the perfect and original place to take a break or rest before the grand finale!! 😎
