Description
鶴岡八幡宮（つるがおかはちまんぐう）は、神奈川県鎌倉市雪ノ下にある八幡宮。鎌倉八幡宮とも呼ばれる。11世紀後半に、源氏の守り神として創建された。以後、鎌倉武士の守護神となる[2]。現代では全国の八幡宮の中で、鎌倉幕府の初代将軍源頼朝ゆかりの神社として関東方面で知名度が高い。境内は国の史跡に指定されている。旧社格は国幣中社で、神社本庁の別表神社であったが、2024年に神社本庁を離脱する手続きを進めている。
