Il villaggio di “Corpo di Cava” presenta esattamente le caratteristiche di un borgo dell’epoca
medievale con strade e stradine strette e tortuose. Il borgo ospitava, con le rispettive
famiglie, tutti coloro che si trovavano per diversi motivi impiegati nell’abbazia benedettina e
che si dedicavano alle più svariate attività religiose, artigianali e commerciali.
Testimonianze di epoca medievale sono i freschi portoni con i lavatoi pubblici dove le
donne si recavano a fare il bucato.
