1) Bunker

Uno degli eventi più importanti e traumatici dell’età contemporanea è sicuramente la seconda guerra mondiale. Anche a Cava, come in tutte le città italiane, questo evento fu vissuto in maniera drammatica, anche perché la città fu teatro di forti scontri tra le forze alleate, sbarcate nella vicina Salerno, e i tedeschi in ritirata. Questo bunker, ancora oggi ben visibile lungo la strada che da Cava portava a Salerno, è uno dei tanti presenti sul territorio cavese, realizzati per dare rifugio alla popolazione durante i bombardamenti. Vale la pena ricordare che nel corso dei bombardamenti fu distrutto il castello medievale che dominava la città dal Monte S. Adiutore; questo fu successivamente ricostruito ma con una tecnica ed uno stile completamente diversi dall’originale.
