🇬🇧

The Den Hoorn Battery is located in the Bollekamer Nature Reserve. This bunker battery was built by the Dutch in 1938 as part of the Den Helder position. The Den Hoorn Battery was fiercely fought over during the Georgian Uprising.

The battery is now a protected monument by the province, and the area on which it is located has been designated a nature reserve by the State Forestry Administration. The command post is easily accessible on foot and offers a magnificent view of the dune landscape and beyond, to the North Sea.

The Virtual Cache:

  • Go to the given coordinates!
  • Count the rusted bolts of the gun mount arranged in a circle! The number is the log password!
  • Take a photo of yourself, your GPSr, or your team mascot on the bunker! Attach the photo to your log (see example picture)!
  • Take a long walk through the dune landscape and stay healthy 😀!

Have fun!
