A fehér fƱz (Salix alba)
A fƱzfafĂ©lĂ©k (Salicaceae) csalĂĄdjĂĄba tartozĂł fƱz (Salix) nemzetsĂ©g legismertebb kĂ©pviselĆje. VesszĆi egĂ©szen a földig lehajolnak. Kora tavasszal megjelennek rajta a barkĂĄk, Ă©s csak azutĂĄn a keskeny, vilĂĄgosbarna levelek. LombhullatĂł.
A fehĂ©r fƱz (Salix alba) fĆbb jellemzĆi:
Termet: AkĂĄr 30 mĂ©ter magasra is megnĆhet. KoronĂĄja szĂ©les, szabĂĄlytalan, ĂĄgai gyakran lehajlanak (de nem tĂ©vesztendĆ Ă¶ssze a szomorĂșfƱzzel).
KĂ©reg: IdĆsebb korĂĄban mĂ©lyen, hosszantĂ irĂĄnyban repedezett, szĂŒrkĂ©sbarna.
LevĂ©l: LĂĄndzsĂĄs, 5-12 cm hosszĂș, fonĂĄkja ezĂŒstösen szĆrös - innen kapta a "fehĂ©r" nevet, mert a szĂ©lben ezĂŒstösen csillog.
Ălettartam: Gyorsan nĆ, de viszonylag rövid ideig Ă©l (szĂĄz Ă©v felett mĂĄr matuzsĂĄlemnek szĂĄmĂt), bĂĄr a legnagyobb hazai pĂ©ldĂĄnyok a 200 Ă©vet is elĂ©rhetik.
GyĂłgyhatĂĄsa: A hazĂĄnkban is Ćshonos vĂzparti fa, a fehĂ©r fƱz a leghatĂĄsosabb, de minden fƱz kĂ©rge gyĂłgyhatĂĄsĂș. Konrad von Megenberg a 14. szĂĄzadban a virĂĄgokbĂłl kisajtolt nedvet ajĂĄnlotta lĂĄz esetĂ©n, a kĂ©rget Ă©s a levelet összehĂșzĂł Ă©s erĆsĂtĆ hatĂĄsĂșnak Ărta le. DioszkuridĂ©sz mĂĄr az Ăłkorban leĂrta, hogy a kĂ©rge, levele Ă©s termĂ©se összehĂșzĂł hatĂĄsĂș. A levelek nedvĂ©t fĂŒlfĂĄjĂĄsra, a kĂ©rget bĆrkemĂ©nyedĂ©s Ă©s Ăłtvar ellen ajĂĄnlotta. A közĂ©pkori szerzetesek Ă©s orvosok lĂĄzcsillapĂtĂĄsra Ă©s fĂĄjdalomcsillapĂtĂłkĂ©nt is alkalmaztĂĄk. Adam Lonitzer, 16. szĂĄzadi nĂ©met orvos hatĂĄsossĂĄgĂĄt köszvĂ©nyrohamok esetĂ©n Ărta le.

White Willow (Salix alba)
The most well-known representative of the willow (Salix) genus belonging to the willow family (Salicaceae). Its twigs bend all the way down to the ground. Catkins appear on it in early spring, followed by narrow, light brown leaves. It is a deciduous tree.
Main characteristics of the White Willow (Salix alba):
Size: It can grow up to 30 meters tall. Its crown is broad and irregular, with branches often drooping (not to be confused with the weeping willow).
Bark: Deeply cracked longitudinally with a grayish-brown color when older.
Leaf: Lanceolate, 5â12 cm long, with silvery hairy undersidesâgiving it the name "white" as it shimmers silvery in the wind.
Lifespan: Grows rapidly but lives a relatively short life (over a hundred years is considered ancient), though the largest specimens in Hungary can reach up to 200 years.
Medicinal Properties: A waterfront tree native to Hungary, the white willow is the most effective, but the bark of all willow species has medicinal qualities. Konrad von Megenberg in the 14th century recommended juice pressed from its flowers for fever, describing the bark and leaves as having astringent and tonic effects. Dioscorides described back in antiquity that its bark, leaves, and fruit had astringent properties. He recommended leaf juice for earaches, and the bark against skin calluses and impetigo. Medieval monks and physicians used it as a fever reducer and painkiller. Adam Lonitzer, a 16th-century German physician, documented its effectiveness during gout attacks.
