Einem der bedeutendsten Reformer des Preußischen Heeres wurde dieses hier stehende Denkmal gewidmet: Gerhard von Scharnhorst. Er wurde hier am 12. November 1755 geboren. Er brachte es vom Fähnrich bis zum General und erfand damals das sogenannte Krümpersystem, dass neben der normalen Armee eine Reserve-Armee vorsah und damit eine Art Vorstufe der heutigen Wehrpflicht darstellt. Dies ist eines der sehenswerten Herrenhäuser hier in der Gegend, dass der NDR, damals vertreten durch Alida Gundlach, besucht hat. Mehr dazu findet ihr auf (visit link)
