Original Game

The Wherigo is inspired by the Soviet LCD game console тайны океана (Secrets of the Ocean) from 1989. After "Ну, погоди!" (Well, Just You Wait!) from 1986, it is the second most popular game from the Soviet company Электроника. The goal of this game is to dive for the treasure, grab it, and bring it back to the boat as quickly as possible. The kraken is the real problem. It extends its tentacles and tries to eat the defenseless diver. The game is over when you have lost 3 lives. Here is a gameplay video.

Cartridge

There are no krakens in the Aare. So we have replaced the danger of being eaten by the octopus with a real threat. The worst thing that can happen underwater is that you use up all your air. That is why you only have 60 seconds for the treasure hunt. You must be back in the boat within this time, otherwise you lose a life. On the boat, you receive 1 point for every second you spent at the treasure. The number of dives is not limited. You have completed the game when you have collected 500 points. If you lose 3 lives, the game is over and you have to start from the beginning.

You can play wherever you like. Find an open area at least 30m long. Then follow the instructions in the game.
