Lake Obersee (Königssee) The Königssee is a lake located in the extreme southeast of the German State of Bavaria (Bayern), near the German-Austrian Border. Lying near the Bavarian town of Berchtesgaden in the municipality of Schönau am Königsee, just south of the Austrian city Salzburg in the German Alps, the Königssee is the third deepest lake in Germany. The lake was formed by glaciers during the last ice age. It is 7.7 kilometers long and about 1.7 kilometers across at its widest point. Except at its outlet, the Königsseer Ache at the village of Königssee, the lake is surrounded by steeply rising flanks of alpine mountains (2.000 m), including the fabled Watzmann. The Obersee was a part of the Königssee until something has happened. Today the Obersee is one of the most beautiful lakes in the alps. It is surrounded by the mountains. Your taskGo to N47° 30.797' E12° 59.854' - this point is located on the way between the Fischunkel Alm and the Obersee. There, I want you to make a photo of you and your GPS with the Oberssee in the background. (Please use a similar perspective as shown in the picture below.)  Then, please answer the following two questions and send me the answers via the contact form: 1) What has happened to create the Obersee out of a part of the Königssee? To answer this question, I suggest to go to one of the national park information centers - there you will find the information in a flyer or just ask the clerk at the information desk... 2) On the lake-side of the Fischunkelalm the is a holy cross (see picture) - please send me the right year witten on this table at the both marked positions?  After you get the allowance to log from me, please don't forget to add the requested picture. Wish you a nice walk to the mountain scenery! |

Gemeinsam mit 85614, Drumpldeer und unertl als Team 'Die Bergcacher' ging es zur Großen Reibn auf 4-Tages-Tour von Schönau am Königssee über das Schneibsteinhaus, der Wasseralm und das Kärlingerhaus.
Das war zumindest der Plan. Letztendlich endete die Tour am heutigen 3. Tag wg. gesteigerter Niederschlagsmenge mit Abstieg von der Wasseralm über den Röthsteig - Obersee - Salet...
Da kamen wir natürlich auch hier vorbei und die Zeit musste sein uns beim Anblick des höchsten Wasserfalls Deutschlands die Fragen zu beantworten.

**Der Mensch der keine Zeit hat muss sich Zeit nehmen um Zeit zu haben**... [:D]

Aus diesen Grund nutzte man am **18. Juli 2023** einen Moment um uns etwas den Alltagsstress zu entziehen... [:)]
Dabei konnte auch der EC **Lake Obersee (Königssee)** betrachtet werden... [;)]

Heute sind wir mit dem Schiff nach Salet gefahren und wollten am Obersee entlang und dann zum Röthbachfall wandern. Nachdem wir den wunderschönen Obersee zur Hälfte umwandert hatten und an der Fischunkelalm ankamen, machten wir noch diesen EarthCache. Alle Fragen konnten wir gut beantworten.
Wir haben die Antworten schon dem Owner geschickt.
