Als die Flammen erloschen, wurde das Bleibende in den Schutz des Tons aufgenommen. Das Volk der Urnenfelder glaubte, dass die Verbrennung des Körpers den Geist befreite und die verzierten Gefäße der Erinnerung ein würdiges Zuhause gaben. Es sind stille Nekropolen, in denen jede Scherbe ein vollendetes Schicksal in sich trägt und in denen die Tiefe der Erde seit Jahrtausenden stummes Zeugnis bewahrt.
