Descrizione
The Achilleion is a palace at Gastouri, seven kilometers south of Corfu town. The Austrian Empress Elisabeth, called Sisi, had it built in 1890-1892.
It is one of the Corfu attractions.
The Achilleion served the Empress as a resort.
Later it was used as a diplomatic center, hospital and casino. Today the Achilleion is a museum.
It is currently being restored, unfortunately only the castle park is accessible (Summer 2022: admission 5 € only castle park). Opening hours 8am-8pm. https://achillion-corfu.gr/?lang=en
Sisi had the marble sculpture “Dying Achilles”, her favorite hero from Greek mythology, set up in the palace park.
There is an inscription of the the sculptor, a location and a year on the sculpture.
The password for logging is the location (in capital letters).

Heute besuchten wir das Achilleion.
Wir waren Chor vom Zustand des Gebäudes entsetzt.
Wenigstens der "Sterbende Achilles" ist jetzt restauriert.

Ein kleine Zeitreise zurück in die Zeit. Derzeit wird der Palast je renoviert und eine marmorne Badewanne steht im Garten. Absicht? Danke für diesen Cache

Auf einer schönen Urlaubsrunde auf Korfu mussten wir natürlich auch einige Dosen suchen.
Diese konnten wir gut finden und das Logheft signieren. Danke fürs Verstecken

Nach einem anstrengenden Aufstieg zu Fuß, haben wir diesen schönen Cache schnell gefunden und gelöst. Der Ausblick auf die Landschaft und die Stadt Ist atemberaubend schön. Die Musik einer Violine und die Anwesenheit einer Sissi-Schauspielerin verliehen dem Ort zusätzliche Magie. Ein Muss für jeden Korfu-Besucher!. Danke für den Cache! Liebe Grüße von den Hoppel Küsschen
