The place in the vicinity of the cache is the center of the new living quarter Südstadt-Ost. Its name - Clara-Immerwahr-Haber-Platz - seems to be absurdly long for an name board, but it is the name of an interesting woman.
Clara Immerwahr has been born 1870 nearby Breslau. She got her Ph.D. as one of the first women in Germany and was engaged in the women's rights movement. In 1901 she married the German chemist Fritz Haber, mostly known for the development of the process of synthesizing ammonia, important for fertilizers, out of air nitrogen. This invention was the reason that the nobel prize was granted to him later. It is less known, that Fritz Haber was one of the major developers of war gas during World War I. After the first usage of war gas in Ypern on April 22nd, 1915 which led to the death of more than 18.000 french soldiers, and which was the reason Fritz Haber was promoted to a higher rank, Clara Immerwahr-Haber committed suicide, protesting thereby against the activities of her husband
The International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW) awards since 1991 the Clara-Immerwahr-Medal - an distinction for the dedication against armament and war.

Hier habe ich schon mehrfach erfolglos gesucht. Dank des inzwischen eindeutigen Hints (bei GC) war es heute überhaupt kein Problem. ☺️ TFTC
