🐸 Die Bürgschaft des Froschkönigs 👑 

Zu Leopold, dem Froschkönig, schlich
ein Wand'rer, den Stift im Gewande;
ihm folgten die Cacher in Bande. 
„Was willst du mit diesem Stifte, sprich!“ 
Entgegnet ihm finster ein Wurzelgesicht. 
„Den König vom Dunkel befreien!“ 
„Dann wirst du dich bald dran erfreuen!“

Da öffnet sich leise das Schattenrevier, 
ein Funkeln entsteigt dem Gewässer. 
Der König tritt vor, in edler Manier:
„Nur wer sich nicht scheut, tritt näher zu mir: 
Eine Frage, gestellt mit Bedacht und mit Sinn, 
nur wer sie auch löst, bekommt den Gewinn.“ 

„Das Rätsel: Es sprudelt ganz klar und hell,
ganz nah, du musst ihm nur lauschen.
Und hältst du die Stille, dann hörst du das Rauschen.“
Und sieh, aus dem Dunkel des Geistes springt schnell
hervor der Gedanke, wie ein Rebell.
Und freudig streckst du die Glieder
und schreibst das Passwort hernieder.

Er blicket dich lange verwundert an;
und spricht kühn: „Es ist dir gelungen,
du hast mein Versteck nun bezwungen.
Die Suche ist nun nicht leer im Plan
sie zeigt, was ein Mensch vollbringen kann.
So nimm, gewähr‘ mir die Bitte
den Schatz: Schreib dein Wort in die Mitte.“

🐸 The Guarantee of the Frog King  👑 

To Leopold, the Frog King, crept
A wanderer, pen in his cloak well kept.
The cachers had bound him with curious aim,
To seek out the king and unlock his name.
“What do you want with that pen?” came the sound,
From a root-faced figure, dark and profound.
“To free the king from the shadows below.”
“Then joy shall soon in your heart overflow.”

Softly the realm of the shadows gave way,
A shimmer arose from the watery bay.
The king stepped forth with noble grace:
“Only those who dare may approach this place.
A question awaits, with meaning and care, 
Solve it with wisdom, the prize you shall bear.”

The riddle: It bubbles, so clear and bright,
So near, just listen with silent might.
And if you hold still, you’ll hear the stream’s song,
Then thought will leap from the dark headstrong,
A rebel idea, swift and true,
You stretch out your limbs, the password comes through.

He gazes at you, astonished and bold,
Then speaks: “You’ve broken the secret I hold.
The search was no longer a hollow plan,
It shows what the heart of a seeker can.
So take this gift, fulfill my plea
the treasure is yours: write your word for me.”
