The Petersberg measures 246 metres and is the highest mountain of Rheinhessen. He is situated next to the villages of Bechtolsheim and Gau-Odernheim. In the tertiary period, when there still was a sea in this area, the Petersberg was an island. This is proven by the sandy soil and the mussel layer in the lower half of the hill.

On the top are the remains of a chapel from the 10th century. There also used to be a small building for a curate and a sexton. Until the year 1289 markets were held twice a year and until the 19th century there were pilgimages to the destroyed chapel.

Bitte bei Statusänderungen, die bei geocaching.com durchgeführt werden, auch immer hier den Status ändern.
Analog zu GC setze ich den Status für diesen Cache jetzt auch auf "Archiviert". Sollten sich später neue Aspekte ergeben und der Cache wieder aktiviert werden, so kann dies durch den Owner selbstständig über die Funktion "Cache bearbeiten" erfolgen.
Bei Unklarheiten oder Fragen kannst du gerne mich oder das Team kontaktieren.

Nach Feierabend mal schnell hier vorbeigekommen. Ist schon eine Wahnsinns-Aussicht von hier oben. Noch während ich die Aussicht genoss, kam ein Auto mit DA-Kennzeichen angebraust, definitiv kein Landwirt, und ich hatte schon die leise Hoffnung, hier unerwarteterweise einen Cacherkollegen zu treffen. War er dann aber scheinbar doch nicht. Oder?

Hallo, mein erster Cach. Aber beim Zweiten anlauf gefunden. Okay meine Freundin hat ihn gefunden. Es ist eine Wunderschöne aussicht von da oben wir hatten Super wetter.

Und heute auch keine Muggels dagewessen. ;)
