Parkstein

Our very first self-hidden cache, a micro on the basalt rock "Parkstein" near Weiden/Germany.

Unfortunately the cache is not accessible for childrens buggies or wheelchairs, but climbing the rock awards you with a beautiful view - even at night!
The basalt rock was formed about 24 million years ago as a consequence from the continental drift. The actual visible part consists of severe basalt rock and was shaped by erosion and weathering forces corroding the "weaker" surroundings. From the parking area you get an excellent view at the "pillars" of igneous rock that were formed by solidified lava.

The cache consists of a film canister containing a logbook and a pencil. Those who like it can upgrade the terrain rating to 5 by choosing the "direct" way :-D
