Karl Friedrich Christian Ludwig Freiherr Drais von Sauerbronn was called the man who I dedicate my cache. Why I choose this location you will know, when you are parking nearly the coordinates. :-)

Karl Drais was born on 29. April 1785 in Karlsruhe as son of the badischen Hof- und Regierungsrat Karl Wilhelm Friedrich Ludwig von Drais and his wife Enestine Christine Margarethe geb. von Kaltenthal. His godfahter was the govern Markgraf Carl-Friedrich von Baden, who decided Drais to work in the forest. Later Drais got money without working and because this exemption he could start his inventor carreer.

Drais invented the notetypewriter, the highspeed-typewriter for 16 letters, fourwheeled driving machine and the twowheeled running-machine. It was the first twowheeled running-machine of the world, and a very important parent of bicycle and car. Because of these inventions Drais got the title “Professor for mechanics” from the badischen Großherzog Carl. Drais experiment of little musclepower railwaymachine coin the word Draisine, which is used by people today yet.

Drais was fan of the badischen Revolution and so he renounced 1849 his public as privileges. He professed himself to the democracy. When the revolution break down, it got bitter for Drais. He was mobbing and nearly incapacitated. His pension was taken by the preussischen Besatzung. He died as a poor man on 10. December 1851 in Karlsruhe.
