The path is broad and not very steep, but offroad-strollers are advised cause to the uneven ground littered with many rocks, ascent time from Hornstein approx. 40 minutes.
Close to the clearly visible TV-signalsender there is also a look-out, not listed in any map, and with no signposts pointing to
it, although it is directly beside a marked hiking path.
The ascent to the platform is very steep and narrow, a rucksack
should be left on the ground, to avoid getting stuck on the ladder.
The maximum allowed weight on the platform is limited to 450
kilogram. enough also for well-fed visitors, if their belly is
small enough. If starting at Hornstein, a good parking place is at
N 47° 52.811, E 016° 27.253 . Recommendable to be combined with the multistage Close to Summer / Eisenstadt - Sonnenberg
, if enough time is
available, and also various caches in / around Hornstein.
The cache is hidden in a hollow stump of a group of treestumps,
under some stones and a piece of a stump. Please heap the stones
again and put the stump as last item into the hole, so that the
cachebox is not visible to other people.
The cache is a deep-freeze box (size 181 x 128 x 88 mm ) and

mit Knight68 gefunden. Blauer Himmel, warm und windig war es zu Beginn unserer Wanderung, am Rückweg kamen dann schon dunkle Wolken... Die Wege waren heute sehr gatschig, aber es war trotzdem ein schöner Spaziergang.
Den Aufstieg auf die Warte hab ich mir heute erspart - dafür war es mir zu windig.
Das Doserl konnten wir rasch entdecken.

nache dem Red-Blue-Cross gemacht, echt ein super Tag heute und angenehm kühl im Leithagebirge. Geowuff 2 hatte den Cache schon vor mir (Batterie ausgegangen 3 Meter neben dem Cache 
). Tolle Aussicht in alle Richtungen auf der Warte. Geowuff 2 musste natürlich warten. Den Hinweis mit dem Rucksack hab ich erst jetzt gelesen (oder vielleicht sollte ich doch endlich abnehmen?). Beide Wuff´s sagen Danke

Die Zeitangabe stimmt ziemlich gut - ich habe zwar 50 Minuten benötigt, aber wenn ich die 10 Minuten Abkürzung, die ich dann wieder zurück bin, abziehe, passt es. Teilweise auf Wegen, die im GPS nicht vorhanden waren, zum "Gipfel" - bis auf 4 Muggels war ich ganz alleine unterwegs. Den Cache habe ich schnell gefunden, aber der Nervenkitzel beim Besteigen diese Warte war dann doch etwas größer (vor allem die letzten Stufen). Nach Hornstein bin ich dann einen anderen Weg gegangen, da dürfte ich wohl die von theplank erwähnte Straße genommen haben. Straße kann man das ja eigentlich nicht mehr nennen, im oberen Bereich war der Weg gut zu begehen, aber je weiter ich ins Tal gekommen bin, desto höher waren die Brennesseln...
Hat Spaß gemacht, ein Cache, den ich nicht so schnell vergessen werde. Danke dafür!
