Is it necessary to have a smartphone with NFC technology! (Special Equipment Required - ECA/ECGA)
That is a NFC-Cache. With this Geocache, you're not looking for a Traditional Cache, but a hidden NFC radio chip.
This cache can only be found with either a NFC reader or ideally a phone with NFC capabilites.
To log the cache you will be required to find the NFC tags. Inside the cache is nothing. When you have found a tag
you will need to scan it, make sure NFC is turned on. After scanning you will see the password for the log page.

The Sacro Monte di Orta (literally: "Sacred Mountain of Orta") is a Roman Catholic devotional complex in the comune of Orta San Giulio (Piedmont, northern Italy) on the summit of a hill known as San Nicolao, which faces the western shore of Lake Orta.
It is one of the Sacri Monti of Piedmont and Lombardy, included in UNESCO World Heritage list.
It is a stop-over on the CoEur devotional path.
Many of the artworks are of a high quality, some of the most highly thought of painters and sculptors of the period having been commissioned to produce them. The vegetation of the Sacred Mountain runs down to the shores of Lake Orta and was designed in line with ornamental criteria to match the architecture.
Construction of the complex, dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi, began in 1583. The project by the Capuchin friar Cleto da Castelletto Ticino involved 36 chapels, of which only 20 were built. Until 1630 they were mostly in the Mannerist style, but from the mid-17th century Baroque and other influences predominated. Construction ended in 1788.

Near Field Communication (NFC) is a set of communication protocols that enable two electronic devices, one of which is usually a portable device such as a smartphone, to establish communication by bringing them within 4 cm (1.6 in) of each other.

Many Smartphones can read the NFC tag right out of the box. To make sure you can read it install a dedicated app.
If you use a Android device, I recommend to use the app NFC Tool or NFC TagWriter . But also many other apps will work.

Ein weiterer Ausflug am Lago d'Orta stand an und so war die Gelegenheit günstig einige Caches auf Opencaching.it und GC zu suchen. Hier wurden wir fündig und es konnte geloggt werden. Es ist unser 1. NFC-Cache
Ein schöner Blick auf die Insel und beeindruckender Rundgang der Kapellen.
