The Chocolate Hills

The Chocolate Hills are a geological formation in Bohol Province, Philippines. There are at least 1,260 hills but there may be as many as 1,776 hills spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometres (20 sq mi). They are covered in green grass that turns brown (like chocolate) during the dry season, hence the name.

The Chocolate Hills are a famous tourist attraction of Bohol. They are featured in the provincial flag and seal to symbolize the abundance of natural attractions in the province. They are in the Philippine Tourism Authority's list of tourist destinations in the Philippines; they have been declared the country's third National Geological Monument and proposed for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

There is a small access fee to enter the area. I paid 50 Peso for one motorbike.

The cache is knowingly hidden not directly at the main viewpoint as usually there would be too many muggles. It is directly beside the street leading downwards from the parking area in a hole at the foot of the rock. Usually there are no muggles there.

Die "Chocolate Hills"

Die Chocolate Hills (deutsch "Schokoladenhügel") sind eine ungewöhnliche geologische Formation, die zu den bedeutendsten Sehenswürdigkeiten der philippinischen Insel Bohol zählt. Insgesamt gehören zu der Formation 1268 nahezu perfekt halbkugel- oder kegelförmig gestaltete Hügel von etwa gleicher Höhe und Abmessung, die sich über ein Gebiet von mehr als 50 km² verteilen. Sie alle sind lediglich mit grünem Gras bewachsen, das sich während der Trockenperiode braun verfärbt und den Hügeln ihren Namen verleiht.

Als die bekannteste Touristenattraktion von Bohol sind die Chocolate Hills sowohl auf der Flagge als auch auf dem Siegel der Inselprovinz abgebildet und stehen allgemein für die natürlichen Sehenswürdigkeiten, die Bohol zu bieten hat. Sie finden sich einerseits in der offiziellen Liste der Touristenziele der Philippinen, die Philippine Tourism Authority's List, und wurden zudem zum dritten National Geological Monument (dt: nationales geologisches Denkmal) des Landes ernannt. Darüber hinaus sind sie zur Aufnahme in die Liste der UNESCO-Welterben vorgeschlagen.

Es ist bei der Einfahrt eine kleine Gebühr zu bezahlen. Ich habe 50 Pesos für ein Motorrad bazahlt.

Der Cache ist bewusst nicht direkt beim Aussichtspunkt versteckt, da dort immer viele Muggels sind. Er befindet sich auf der Straße, die vom Parkplatz aus bergab führt. Der Container befindet sich bergseitig neben der Straße in meinem Loch am Fuße des Felshanges.

Tsokolateng burol

Ang mga Tsokolateng Burol (Ingles: Chocolate Hills), o ang mga "karamelo", ay isang anyong lupa sa Bohol, Pilipinas. Mayroon tinatayang 1,260 mga burol subalit maaaring nasa 1,776 ang mga burol ang nakakalat sa kabuuang lupa na 50 square kilometres (20 sq mi). Nababalot ng mga luntiang damo ang burol at nagiging kulay tsokolate kapag tag-araw, kaya naging Tsokolateng Burol ang pangalan nito.

Sikat na atraksiyon ang mga Tsokolateng Burol sa Bohol. Tampok ang mga ito sa panlalawigang watawat at sagisag ng lalawigan ng Bohol na sumasagisag nang mayamang likas na yaman ng lalawigan.
