Geocache on the edge of the nature reserve "Toter Grund / dead ground".
Warning: Please do not enter the nature reserve! Cache is located between the unpaved path and the asphalted road slightly higher. You neither have to go in the water nor in the woods!
Natural Monument No. 718 "Toter Grund" (sign at the beginning and end of the path along the natural monument).
The "dead ground" is a Donautalarm, which has developed in the area of the former flood plain. During the construction of the New Danube and Danube Island this oxbow was obtained.
The existing stock of poplars, willows, ash and other trees is situated in the Danube Island. This is about 1 km long and up to 200 m wide waters adjacent pond and reeds and bush areas form an important habitat for rare and endangered species such as amphibians, birds and mammals.
Please do not enter this area!
The cache can be lifted from the paved road or the small dirt road next to the nature reserve. I recommend to take the little dirt road (about 1 km) on foot or by bike to enjoy the nature reserve (see waypoints)!

Heute verschlug es Etaner7 und mich auf die Donauinsel und so kamen wir auch hier vorbei!
Das Behältnis ist recht ramponiert und Logbuch fehlt.
Zettel spendiert.

Parkplatz - Toter Grund - Radlheuriger auf ein Bier mit Waldviertler - Lands End - Parkplatz zu Fuß 11km, schöne Wanderung!
