When the railway was built there hasn't been a golf site like today, which occupied the full width of the valley. Still, the curve the valley describes here seemed a bit narrow for the builders, so they decided to invest the money and build a tunnel. It's the only tunnel between Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt and Sulz am Neckar. So, trains can tunnel through the village, while everyone else still has to go around or over the hill. Btw: Although the railway line crosses right through the village and there is no other station nearby, Sulzau never had a stop. It has been discussed many times to build a train stop for Sulzau, but was never realized.
If you have the chance to look through the driver's window on a train ride here, you may notice the there is a little S-curve near the eastern end of the tunnel. Looks like the tunnel and the cut didn't match exactly after finishing...
Note: The cache can be removed from its holding for logging. It is not necessary to use any tricks or disassemble anything to unpack the logbook.
P.S.: If you really need light, bring your own batteries.

Cachewartung:
Nach ein paar seltsamen Logs auf der Nachbarplattform mal selber nachgeschaut, was Sache ist.
Die Dose war vorhanden, aber mit Gewalt auseinandergebaut worden. Das Originallogbuch war noch an der Stelle, wo es hingehört - nein, NICHT im "hellen" Teil! Der Ersatzlogzettel war also überflüssig! Der Griff (mit dem sie aufgehängt ist) fehlte allerdings.
Neue Dose mit neuem Logbuch aufgehängt

Bei tollem Spaetsommerwetter ging es erneut mit Braddock75 auf Tour. Wie immer haben wir mit "BrHx" gelogged. Vielen Dank an die Owner fuers Legen und Pflegen der Caches.
Dank praeziser Koordinaten und praezisem Listing und Hint, fand sich das Objekt zuegig.

Danke für den schönen und auffindbaren cache. Hatten leider Stift vergessen zum einschreiben. Aber öffnen muss man dann doch was ;-).

Neue Dose am alten Ort.
Aufgrund der Bauarbeiten für den neuen Neckartalradweg ist der Cache zur Zeit offiziell nur aus Richtung Sulzau erreichbar. Ab Juli soll der Radweg dann hier entlang verlaufen.
