In 1970 the Land Survey Administration Munich identified the official geographical center of Bavaria, close to the castle Kipfenberg. 10 years later – in 1980, a huge erratic block, carrying a commemorative plaque, has been installed on site with a ceremonial act, to celebrate the geographical center of Bavaria. You will find the stash near to this boulder.
By the way the nearby scenic market town Kipfenberg, situated in the heart of the amazing Altmuehl Valley nature reserve, likewise is worth a visit. For example, you can find impressive limes remains, as well as an interesting museum “Romans and Bajuwares”.

Nachdem der erste Bayer gefunden war, habe ich noch etwas in meiner Liste gestöbert und dabei entdeckt, dass die Mitte Bayerns praktisch vor meinen Füßen liegt. Nix wie hin.
Offensichtlich bin ich der einzige Depp, der sich an Verkehrsschilder hält. Auf der gesperrten Straße zur Burg sind 5 Autos an mir vorbeigefahren. Die örtliche Blaskapelle, die die Maibaumfeier musikalisch begleitet hat, konnte ich bis zur Burg hören. Nicht dass ich ein Blasmuskikfan bin, war aber deutlich besser als Verkehrslärm.
Ja, da muss ein Cache hin. Und dann noch ein zum Thema passendes Versteck.

Auf einem Wochenend- Trip hier vorbei gekommen, und gleich mal den Mittelpunkt Bayerns besucht. Wegen der Straßensperrung und wegen des blöden Wetters war es heute ruhig vor Ort.

Auf den Weg nach München hatte ich heute mal etwas mehr Zeit im Gepäck und so machte ich einen Abstecher durch das schöne Altmühltal. Das Wetter war perfekt und lud zum Wandern ein und so machte ich eine kleine Pause am Grüntopf.
Danach ging es weiter Richtung Süden und zum Mittelpunkt von Bayern. Ich parkte am Nahe gelegen Parkplatz und nachdem ich mir den Gedenkstein angeschaut hatte, ging es auch schon zur Dose. :)

Auch mich lockte dieser historische Cache in diese Ecke. Schon allein die Anfahrt über Kipfenberg ist ein kleines Abenteuer [;)]. Danke fürs Verstecken und Herführen an diesen interessanten Platz [^]!

An diesem Ort war ich schon ewig nicht mehr. Klar, dass hier ein Cache liegen muss. Dieser war auch schnell gefunden und geloggt. Danke fürs Wiederherführen und Verstecken.
