Description    Deutsch  ·  English

This short stroll has a length of roughly 1.5 km, passing interesting architecture and places with a great view. It's well suited for strollers, for wheelchairs it could be a bit to steep. No need for special clothing, you don't have to leave the pathways. Parking might be difficult specially in the evenings, a bus stop of the line 44 (Helfferichstraße) is close.

Please bring your own pen!

  1. We start at
    N 48°47.378'
    E 9°10.214',
    where we learn that this street is named after an honorary citizen of Stuttgart. Besides the years of birth and death there's another year noted, the cross total of this numer is A.
  2. We walk bearing ESE and get to an impressive building, which was once owned by a famous writer of the 19th century. At that time, this house was located in the Urbanstraße, from where it was moved brick by brick to the current location at the beginning of the 20th century. The house is recognizable by this couple:

    We note down the number of the house as B.
    A bit later we pass a house in the "Bauhaus"-style, the vicinity to the "Weißenhofsiedlung" is noticable...
  3. (voluntary) A short detour brings us to
    N 48°47.316'
    E 9°10.485'
    where we can find a mikro cache containing a hint for the final in a stone bench.
  4. At the Kriegsbergturm
    N 48°47.256'
    E 9°10.421'
    we can learn about this tower and count the appearances of the letter ,,T" in the second word of the seventh line. This number is C.
  5. We head on to
    N 48°47.229'
    E 9°10.260'
    enjoying the nice view over Stuttgart on the way. At these coordinates we see
    • a phone booth -> D=11
    • a monument -> D=25
    • an advertising pillar -> D=38
  6. Nearly there! At
    N 48°47.314'
    E 9°10.155'
    we note down number of white and red [hydrant-] signs (=E) and head on to the final cache.
  7. We find it at
    N 48°47.[E][B+2][C+E]'
    E 9°10.[A-18][D]'

Found 16 May 2012 Flosphor found the geocache
