This is the only survivor of the 4 Lauenburger mills. It’s a model of dutch-gallery-windmill and was built 1871 to 1873 by Wilhelm Helm. Since the family Kampff became 1892 owner, the mill is known as “Kampffsche Mühle”. A big storm destroyed in 1962 the wings of the mill, that’s why the grindmaschines are working by electric motors. Rolf Weber bought the mill 1960 and grinded about 50 tons per day.

From 1983 until 1985 the mill was restored and the millbuilding became a restaurant/café. Today exists here a 3-star-hotel too and the mill is a museum.

Nachdem Schwiegermutter (bzw. Mutter bzw. Oma) und die Trüffelnase hier nicht fündig wurden, musste ich doch glatt nochmal aus dem Auto klettern. Natürlich fand ich das Döschen innerhalb von Sekunden [8D].
